TNT's Perception Returns Tuesday February 25, 2014 10PM

[TNT Press Release]
Peter Coyote (E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial) is set to be a guest-star on the upcoming season of TNT’s Perception, starring Emmy® and Screen Actors Guild Award® winner Eric McCormack. In addition his role as the lead government scientist in the blockbuster E.T., Coyote is known for his performances in such films as Cross Creek and A Walk to Remember, as well as the series Brothers & Sisters, Commander in Chief, The 4400 and Law & Order: L.A. Coyote is also an author, director, screenwriter and narrator. His voice work includes narrating the opening ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics.

In Perception, Coyote will play James Alan Pierce, the father of Daniel Pierce (McCormack). He comes to visit his son in order to give him some surprising news. Their relationship, however, is filled with past resentments, and Pierce is less than thrilled about the visit.

Perception, which comes to TNT from ABC Studios, stars Eric McCormack as Dr. Daniel Pierce, an eccentric neuroscientist and university professor with a unique way of seeing the world. Pierce is called upon by his former student – FBI agent Kate Moretti, played by Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That) – to help the federal government solve complex criminal cases.

Perception, which also stars Arjay Smith (The Day After Tomorrow), LeVar Burton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Kelly Rowan (The O.C.) and Scott Wolf (Party of Five), **will finish out it's second season with episodes 11 and 12 in February and March of 2014. It will kick off its third season this summer.

**As of this posting of TNT's press release, there appears to be, you should pardon the expression, a misPerception, as to whether the episode which will air on Tuesday 2~25~2014 is the 11th or 12th episode of the 2nd season. TNT's and TVGuide's schedules list the episode which airs that night as "Curveball". IMDB lists the title of the episode that airs on the 25th and as the 11th episode of the 2nd season as "Obsession". If and when a clarification or consensus becomes available, InALather will give a heads-up.

Season Three of TNT's Hit Drama Dallas to Launch Monday, Feb. 24 2014 9PM

[Press Release DallasTNT Newsroom]

Let the Backstabbing Begin: Season Three of TNT's Hit Drama Dallas to Launch Monday, Feb. 24

The backstabbing, two-timing, double-crossing drama of TNT's Dallas is set to return this winter with the launch of the hit series' third season. Dallas, which follows the internal and external conflicts facing the oil-rich Ewing family, stars Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Mitch Pileggi and Emma Bell, with Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray. The new season will also see the addition of Juan Pablo Di Pace as a regular cast member and the return of guest stars Ken Kercheval, Judith Light, Kuno Becker and Marlene Forte. In addition, AnnaLynne McCord is set to guest-star in several episodes. Produced for TNT by Warner Horizon Television, Dallas is slated to kick off its new season Monday, Feb. 24, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

Dallas stars Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, who is now the senior member of the Ewing family, following the death of his older brother, J.R. Ewing. Linda Gray stars as Sue Ellen Ewing, J.R.'s former wife and the mother of his son, John Ross III (Josh Henderson). Following the death of his revered father, John Ross is out to prove he can be just as powerful an ally or enemy as the infamous J.R., and Sue Ellen is ready to help him any way she can.

Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe), Bobby's adopted son, is still determined to make a name for himself and his family; but he continues to reel after his engagement to Elena Ramos (Jordana Brewster) fell through, and the search for his mother ended with news that she died in 1989. Elena, having received important information about the original deed to her father's land, is now consumed with thoughts of justice for previous wrongs against her family, including her brother, Drew (Kuno Becker), and mother, Carmen (Marlene Forte), the Southfork Ranch housekeeper. To find that justice, Elena has turned to an old childhood friend, Nicolas TreviƱo, played by new cast member Juan Pablo Di Pace, who most recently starred in the series Camp.

The Ewings' chief nemesis, Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval), has done everything he can to bring the Ewing family down. But when an attempt to sabotage a Ewing oil rig resulted in injuring his daughter, Pamela Barnes (Julie Gonzalo), and killing her and Christopher's unborn twins, Cliff suddenly found his daughter turning against him. Having helped the Ewings gain a controlling interest in Barnes Global, Pamela is now determined to find a happy ending with her new husband, John Ross, and make a home for herself on Southfork Ranch. Cliff, meanwhile, awaits trial for the murder of J.R., of which he has been accused.

Bobby’s wife, Ann (Brenda Strong), continues to battle with Harris Ryland (Mitch Pileggi), her scheming ex-husband who is now in jail for drug smuggling. Ann also continues to build a relationship with her daughter, Emma (Emma Bell), a sheltered beauty who has teamed up with John Ross to stir up trouble for her father, Harris. Things become even more difficult for Ann with the return of Harris' controlling mother, Judith (Judith Light).

The third season of Dallas will introduce viewers to Heather, a 20-something ranch hand and single mother, played by AnnaLynne McCord, who was recently seen as Naomi Clark on 90210. When Heather's ex-husband returns, bringing turmoil back into her life and the life of her 5-year-old son, Christopher steps in to help.

Dallas premiered in 2012 and finished the year as one of basic cable's Top 10 new dramas. In its second season, Dallas drew more than 3.8 million viewers, with 1.7 million adults 25-54. Shot on location in the title city, Dallas was developed by executive producer Cynthia Cidre from the series created by David Jacobs. Serving as executive producers with Cidre are Michael M. Robin, Robert Rovner and Bruce Rasmussen.
