Steve Niles' Remains: A ChillerTV First Original Movie

ChillerTV has something to sate zombiephiles while AMC's The Walking Dead is on hiatus: Steve Niles' Remains. It premiered Friday December 16th 2011. A shrewd scheduling tactic on ChillerTV's part since that other network's undead juggernaut is on vaycay 'til March 2012.

The tagline for the ChillerTV network, "Scary Good", is the real deal Lucille, because as good as AMC's The Walking Dead is, Steve Niles' Remains makes TWD, look like a kiddie show.

A catastrophic energy shockwave accident has transformed all but a handful of the world's population into zombies. These undead not only feed on the living, they feed on each other. And if the mood strikes they will even feed on themselves while being eaten by another zombie!

Remains is funny, and there are hotties of both sexes. Throw in beautiful Nevada desert location and you have a textbook example of classic sci-fi/horror.

Bonus! There's a webisode prequel: Road To Reno that is "scary good"[see video below].

Double Bonus! Steve Niles is on twitter @SteveNiles and is responsive to fans questions and comments.

If you missed Remains December 16th airing, no need to fret, ChillerTV has scheduled 8 repeat airings the first repeat airing on Wednesday December 21st at 8:00pm est. Please check your local listings.

Remains Premieres Friday, December 16 @ 10 PM

New York, NY – October 10, 2011 – Announced today by Thomas P. Vitale, EVP, Programming and Original Movies, Syfy and Chiller, the highly-anticipated Steve Niles’ Remains, Chiller’s first original movie, will premiere Friday, December 16 @ 10 PM.

Based on the IDW Publishing graphic novel written by Steve Niles (30 Days of Night) and illustrated by Kieron Dwyer, Remains is set in a chilling post-apocalyptic Reno, Nevada, and follows the survivors of a bizarre accident that reduced most of the world’s population to zombies.

The group takes refuge in a vacant casino and fights a losing battle against the undead, who grow steadily stronger, smarter and more aggressive by the minute. The movie stars Grant Bowler (True Blood, Ugly Betty), Lance Reddick (Fringe, Lost, The Wire), Miko Hughes (Pet Sematary) and Tawny Cypress (Rescue Me, Heroes). Remains is written by John Doolan and directed by Colin Theys; Andrew Gernhard and Zach O'Brien will serve as producers for Synthetic Cinema International.
