Hey kids --Just want to give you the first heads up: FX will be running TWO brand spanking new spots on Nip/Tuck during the first week of September during the premiere week of The Shield. Watch them, they are fantastic. The spots showcase clips from the season we just shot and finished editing, which premieres in January. The clips (teasingly) tell you what happened to Sean after Colleen Rose stabbed him, Christian's future, and a sneak peak at many of our great upcoming envelope-pushing patients. The wait is over: next week, you will all get a glimpse of the new season of Nip/Tuck. The marketing song of the season, by the way, is "Flashing Lights" by Mr. K. West himself. I love the glamour and menace and intrigue of the new teaser spots, and look forward to your thoughts.Poor Sean in a casket...XXXOOORyan
"eight spanking fresh new episodes air in mid-january through march. Then back on the air in January 10 for nine more. Then back on the air in January 11 for the final nine." ~ August 9, 2008, Ryan Murphy, Creator of Nip/Tuck
"Nip/Tuck has already aired 14 episodes of its current fifth season; the remaining eight are set to premiere in January."
Asked why he decided to bring "Nip/Tuck" to an end, Landgraf said he doubts any FX drama would ever run beyond 100 episodes, saying that serialized dramas have a much different storytelling model than nonserialized shows such as "Law & Order" or "CSI.""If you tried to do 150 episodes of 'The Sopranos,' you would begin to diminish the quality of those shows," he said. "The David Chases ('Sopranos') and Shawn Ryans ('The Shield'), they're taking on social commentary and grand sweeping questions. If we want to go after that brass ring, we have to accept they have limited shelf life." The Hollywood Reporter
A few weeks ago i posted about the charity event Extravaganza For The Senses, to benefit the Saban Free Clinic. Fox Studio's lot was the venue, and Nip/Tuck's Julian McMahon was promoted as the celebrity co-chair.
